I finished Listening to Dead Man's Walk by Larry McMurtry. This is a prequel to Lonesome Dove. Although it was not as good as Lonesome Dove I still found it very interesting. We first meet Call and Gus and learn how they meet. We also find out how Gus met Clara and how Call meet Maggie. I felt like I was actually on the trail with the Rangers and felt sad when they lost many of their friends and felt scared when Buffalo Hump, Kicking Wolf and Gomez were after them. I grew to like Matilda who was not very likable at the beginning. I found the most striking scene was when they meet the Indians while they were going to Santa Fe with a woman who had leprosy and what she does to scare the Indians. I am looking forward to listening to Comache Moon.
