I am having a hard time concentrating today as we are having pouring raining at the rate of 1/2 inch an hour.
Rain most times causes me to have a headache ( I have arthritis in my neck) so it is hard to concentrate during those times.
I am only going to share one resource today but it is a goody.
I receive a newsletter every month from Learning through History. In this newsletter they have a complete mini-unit on various events or people in history. This month it is on the Wives of Henry the VIII. It also contains various resources that you can buy for this theme but there are enough free links to have a great little unit. They also give you DVR alerts on interesting shows that are coming up so you can tape them and show them later at your convenience. This is a great resource. The site also has all the past mini units.
Have a great week (hope we don't float away)

TV Tuesday
I have been enjoying the First Season of this
ER Season 1. I watched this show till the very end but I think that the first season was still the best. I have stopped right now at the Peisode entitle Love's Labour Lost. I am gearing myself up for this one. It is about a women who comes in for a minor complication of her pregnancy and ends up dying. This really hit home the first time I saw it as I was pregnant at the time plus my mother had died in child birth with my sister. I was a basket case after I saw this. I know that there was alot of sleeping around going on and it seems like every main character had a relationship with another main character at one time or another but the drama kept me coming back.

Movie Monday
The Girls and I went to see this movie this past Week
Cats and Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore
It was cute. We laughed out loud several times. A Good Family movie. I liked the first one better but I think that this one is dvd worthy (that is what we say when we want to buy the dvd).
My Husband and I watched this over the weekend
This was supposedly a great short story from the Saturday Evening Post. I personally thought that it didn't translate to well to a movie. We usually like Jimmy Stewart in most things he does but the acting in this movie was really bad.
This was the theme song that was Number one for four weeks.
Really corny song and corny lyrics.

Hannah is taking a lit class in our Homschool Coop so that is taken care of for us this year but in the past I have used Old Fashioned Education for ideas of books to have Hannah read Also Amblesideonline . LearnOutLoud has free audio resources to use for Literature.
Glencoe is a wonderful resource for study guides for many great books.
These are just to get you started in the right direction. There are many great resources on the web. Just do a google search.

TV Tuesday
I watched the second season of this
Mad about You Starring Paul Riser and Helen Hunt. This was a nice little comedy that was funny in alot of ways. There was alot more talk of sex and innuendo than I remember. I guess I recognize this more since my daughter was watching with me.

Homeschool Thursday
Well it was back to school for us this week. For the most part it has gone fairly smoothly except for one cranky session after lunch on the first day (both of us were cranky).
For Bible this year we are going to spend quite a bit of time in Psalms.
Right now we are using:
Psalms: a Life Changing encounter
After we do this Hannah and I both will be working our way through
Stepping Up by Beth Moore
Then if we finish that and there is still some time left in the year
We will do The Psalms study from this site. We have used these lessons for the Books of the Bible up to Psalms and have been quite pleased with them. David Padenfield is the author and does a great job.
I hope that everyone else is having a great school year so far!
